My Mate Dug then suggested a company called giffgaff, a pay as you go provider who do what they call goodybags for deals.

Their £10 a month goodybag will suit me fine and will take my mobile costs down from T-Mobiles £16ish to £10.

Giffgaff runs on the O2 network, which has better signal where I live/work as well, which is a bonus.

I am really pleased with the work, the house now looks great and as the product is concrete based it’ll never rot!

but I feel it needs something more, and kinda like going a bit bolder – ie this: -

I’d keep a light wall behind the telly, and all the wood would be painted white, except of course the new oak blind, and I’d get full length white/pale cream curtains.

to do this, i’d probably have to lose a lot of the old and dated furniture I have, including sadly the nice (huge) dining table my parents gave me.

If anyone has thoughts on how to best do this, and what to do on the floor (I’d quite like a carpet, the laminate it has at the moment is cheap and horridly fitted) I’d really appreciate it.

First thoughts are WOW, it’s totally ace.

The phone is powerful, can multitask (he he @ iPhone users) and looks really great.

Cost a lot, and will probably get stung for tax & VAT, but it is a really nice gadget and we all know I love gadgets.

things have been busy in my life recently, I have broken up with Tom, amicably thank goodness, I have been busy at work (yay) and I am decorating/doing DIY at home.

Tom and I decided to go our separate ways last month, as when I was working away from home we had kinda “drifted apart” and since being back we never really “drifted” back together, it was kinda like house sharing and would only have ended up in tears. It’s a real shame as I was hoping for so long that things would be okay, but it was not getting better at all :’(

Work has been really busy, it’s good fun too and I am still loving the being so close to home thing, being able to pop home for lunch and Top Gear rocks

I am now trying to make the house feel like “my space” so am going to decorate and do diy things I was putting off. so far I have moved the livingroom about, moved the telly off the wall and generally had a massive clean up.

As some of you might know, I recently got made redundant and joined the unemployed masses for a short while.

I was out of work in total for two months, five weeks of which was officially time off in lieu of notice, so my total office time out of work was like a month

I got a job at a very local company (ten minutes walk from home) and to be honest, it totally rocks, I took a pay cut but to be working so close to home, popping home for lunch etc and well pretty much not using my car except for the weekends really rocks and is well worth the paycut.

I have now been there for a week under two months and well to be honest I have no idea why I stayed away from home for so long! working for SRM was great and I miss a number of my old work mates, but the last project was not the best fun in the world and being away from home from Sunday evening till Friday evening really was not the best, Tom and I are getting on okay and it is really nice to actually spend some time here.

I am being more social than ever before, spending a lot of time at a local lounge-bar which is nice place, with a funny landlord.

So all in all, it was a good move, I feel better for it…
